Celebrating my 30th in Spain
While we’re locked indoors, I couldn’t help but scroll through wonderful memories in Spain last fall. I celebrated turning thirty in Spain’s Barcelona and Madrid — where things move at a slower pace, the sun feels warmer and where the cities’ bold colors beg to be photographed.
Barcelona was so picturesque. I loved the city’s lush greens and its beautiful coastline. I’m glad we decided to visit in November when the weather’s crisp and not too chilly. Walking its streets and seeing colonial architecture reminded me a bit of Manila.
My favorite was seeing The Basílica de la Sagrada Família, which left me awestruck. The church grabs your attention and demands to be basked in all its glory. It forces you to pause and stare at its exterior, rich in detail and craftsmanship.
Madrid was also beautiful but grittier. It was quite an experience touring one of its historic palaces.
It was equally fun exploring what Spain had to offer when it comes to food which did not disappoint.
In the meantime, I’ll sit here and dream of one day leaving the apartment again.
Here’s the song playing in my head wandering in Spain:
