A Break from New York City
You can drive two hours north of New York City and be transported to Woodstock, a small town in upstate New York, far from the cacophony of city life. My husband and I spent a few days here, exploring this town of towering trees, occasional crossing deers, quirky shops and beautiful landscape.
Driving around here was absolutely beautiful. It was a little challenging not to be distracted as we drove through valleys into the woods. It was peaceful—sometimes eerily quiet, as the crisp fall scent hung in the air.
We visited the town's main street daily, where we walked around and enjoyed breakfast every morning. A little strip of local restaurants and shops lined the street including vintage stores, cafes, a small art house theater set in an old church, meat shops, and more.
What made this trip even better was our Airbnb, a cute house in the middle of the woods, decorated with international trinkets, filled with nice little amenities and cozy furniture.
